week 2...finally!

The pups are doing great and are growing like weeds.  They are very active and have a lot of motor skill for 2 week old pups.  They had their first group howl this week and now do one daily- usually when they hear me puttering around the room but I am too busy to stop and give them pets.  I have never had pups that are this into me at this age!  Starting at one week they would shoot to the front of the whelping box when they smelled/heard me and squawk until I loved on them.  They love to be cuddled and give a lot of kisses.  Cornelia is finally allowing some of the younger girls to play with the pups but still wont let any of the older females in to the room, except her mom Chili.

They look like puzzle pieces  fitting together
Starting at two weeks, I put the pups in a playpen in my living room to get used to the bustle of a busy house.  I will drop one of the sides down so the dogs can sniff the pups but not squish them.  When the pups get a little older I will let the other dogs jump in and see them one at a time.
 Mr. Green
Mr. Green has a great coat- all of these pups have nice thick, plush coats!  Dad passed on his wonderful pelt!
